Overview
Community Change builds the power of low-income people, especially low-income people of color, to fight for economic, racial, and immigrant justice. Since its founding in 1968 as a living memorial to Senator Robert F. Kennedy, Community Change has put people directly affected by injustice — people of color, women, immigrants, people struggling to make ends meet — at the center of the work to envision and enact a society where all people and communities thrive. It shapes policies, narratives, and power structures in partnership with over 100 community-based groups, in more than 40 states, to exert outside pressure that strengthens its influence at tables of power.

for New Economy Capacity Building analysis project
Community Change is a national organization that builds the power of low-income people, especially people of color, to fight for a society where everyone can thrive. The New Economy Capacity Building project is fiscally sponsored by Community Change to research how to accelerate the impact of new economy movements around the world. The project will research innovations in organizing, think tanks, communications, and advocacy work in key geographies around the globe, including mapping where the gaps are. The project will develop strategies to share these best practices and identify gaps over the coming decade.
