Overview
The Climate and Energy Justice Program aims to reduce global warming,smog-forming, and toxic pollution within the I-710 corridor communities in Los Angeles, where an eighteen-mile stretch of the I-710 Freeway is set to be widened to accommodate diesel truck traffic from nearby ports; cargo transported from the ports is expected to double by 2030. Communities for a Better Environment and its coalition allies hope to turn the I-710 freeway project into an innovative green transportation project, helping to ensure that California meets its global warming emission reduction requirements.
