Overview
College to Congress is a new nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to creating pathways for students to intern on Capitol Hill who otherwise could not afford to, and changing the climate on Capitol Hill to encourage broader systemic support for fully paid internships. Most congressional internships are unpaid, excluding students from low-income families, which effectively denies them future career opportunities as congressional staff. The program offers leadership training, mentorships, an alumni network, and stipends to cover flights, meals, housing, and a professional wardrobe. Interns are paired with a mentor from another party to demonstrate the power of moving beyond partisan conflict and forging compromise.

College to Congress (C2C) is a nonpartisan nonprofit that is creating a more inclusive and effective Congress by empowering the next generation of public servants. The group provides pathways for college students from rural, low-income, and disadvantaged communities to intern and subsequently work in Congress who otherwise could not afford to. C2C’s unique, all-encompassing program provides selected college students with the training, mentorship, and financial support needed to intern in Congress and launch their careers in public service. C2C believes that with a seat at the policymaking table, these young leaders can help create a democracy that is truly reflective of the American people on both sides of the aisle.
