Overview
Climate Jobs National Resource Center (CJNRC) educates workers and the public about policies that will build a clean energy economy at the scale climate science demands, create good union jobs, and create more equitable communities. Historic federal investments have dramatically shifted the climate landscape over the past year. This organizational effectiveness grant will support strategic planning in six states to develop a shared vision, strategy, and shared goals to unify coalitions members around the work ahead. In addition to state specific planning, this grant will support the convening of a group of past and present union leaders, public policy and workforce experts, and leaders in clean energy deployment to analyze the long-term landscape and trajectories for emerging technologies and the future of climate jobs. Climate Jobs National Resource Center educates workers and the public about policies that will build a clean energy economy at the scale climate science demands, create good jobs, and result in more equitable communities. Supporting state-based, labor-led coalitions is the foundation of the center’s work to win policies that improve people’s lives and address inequality and climate change at the same time. In addition to these state-led coalitions, the center coordinates national technology or sector-specific campaigns across states that have strong potential for long-term career opportunities, such as offshore wind and clean buildings. for general operating support
Climate Jobs National Resource Center advocates for a clean energy economy at the scale climate science demands, and works to create good union jobs and support more equitable communities. Climate Jobs provides strategic, technical, and communications support to a growing number of state-based, labor-led climate advocacy coalitions. Climate Jobs has successfully accelerated the deployment of renewable technologies, such as offshore wind, while also structuring policies to ensure economic benefits reach workers. The organization is working to support the successful deployment of federal climate investments from the perspective of supporting economic growth and decarbonization.
