Overview
Citizen University works "to help Americans cultivate the values, systems knowledge, and skills of effective citizenship" through three core programs: the Civic Collaboratory, Sworn Again America, and the Civic Power Curriculum. Its anchor program, the Civic Collaboratory, is a national network of civic leaders from across the political spectrum and many domains—from immigrant rights to veterans advocacy to voting reform. The Collaboratory serves as a "network of networks" for next-generation civic organizations and leaders, with members meeting quarterly to share and learn. Through the recently launched Civic Power Curriculum, the Collaboratory is working to take its ideas and embed them across a wider range of sectors. Led by Eric Liu, a longtime Madison Initiative advisor, this grant to Citizen University would support solidification and expansion of this work.
