Overview
Citizen University works "to help Americans cultivate the values, systems knowledge, and skills of effective citizenship" through three core programs: The Civic Collaboratory, Sworn-Again America, and the Civic Power Curriculum. Its anchor program, the Civic Collaboratory, is a national network of civic leaders from across the political spectrum and many domains—from immigrant rights to veterans’ advocacy to voting reform. The collaboratory serves as a "network of networks" for next-generation civic organizations and leaders, with members meeting quarterly to share and learn. Through the recently launched Civic Power Curriculum, the collaboratory is working to take its ideas and embed them across a wider range of sectors. This grant for general operating support to Citizen University will support the solidification and expansion of this work, including the hiring of a new managing director.

for general operating support
Citizen University is a national organization working to build a culture of powerful, responsible citizenship across the country through several core programs: the National Civic Collaboratory, Local Civic Collaboratory, Civic Saturdays, Civic Saturday Fellowship, Citizen Redefined, and the Youth Collaboratory. Their vision is to spread the belief that a strong democracy depends on strong citizens — that we all have the power to make change happen in civic life, and we all have the responsibility to try. Citizen University’s anchor program, the National Civic Collaboratory, is a national network of civic leaders from across the political spectrum and many domains — from immigrant rights to veterans’ advocacy to voting reform. The Collaboratory serves as a “network of networks” for next-generation civic organizations and leaders, with members meeting quarterly to share and learn.
