Overview
Citizen University works "to help Americans cultivate the values, systems knowledge, and skills of effective citizenship" through several core programs: the Civic Collaboratory, Civic Saturdays, Civic Seminaries, and the Youth Collaboratory. Its anchor program, the Civic Collaboratory, is a national network of civic leaders from across the political spectrum and many domains — from immigrant rights to veterans’ advocacy to voting reform. The Collaboratory serves as a "network of networks" for next-generation civic organizations and leaders, with members meeting quarterly to share and learn. Through the recently launched Civic Seminaries, Citizen University is working to train local civic leaders to host their own Collaboratory meetings. This grant for general operating support to Citizen University will support the solidification and expansion of this work.
