Overview
Citizen Schools partners with middle school teachers and mentors from local industries to expand hands-on, culturally relevant science learning experiences for students. With this grant, Citizen Schools will develop professional learning to increase teachers’ ability to modify or "hack" OER to create experiential and rigorous lessons that promote the efficacy of students and teachers alike. Their research will examine how school and district conditions, such as administrator flexibility, professional development cadres, and collaborative planning structures, can encourage teacher innovation with OER.
