The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund, established by the San Francisco Chronicle, has a mission of creating stability for individuals and families facing an unexpected crisis by providing temporary assistance for housing, critical needs, and access to food. Since their founding in 1986, they have distributed more than $150 million to move their mission forward and help prevent homelessness and hunger throughout the nine counties of the Bay Area. Over the years, the Season of Sharing Fund has become a leading provider of emergency financial assistance for residents in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties. Over 160,000 households have received assistance since their inception.
