It develops policy options to support equitable growth, promote opportunity, and invest in effective programs. The center focuses on addressing budget and economic challenges in ways that are fiscally responsible and allow our nation to fulfill its commitments and respond to unmet needs, especially for disadvantaged populations.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is one of the nation’s premier think tanks working at the federal and state levels on fiscal policy and public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals. The Center conducts nonpartisan research and analysis to help inform public debates and ensure that policy makers and the public consider the needs of those communities whose voices are too often unheard. The Center also examines the short- and long-term impacts of proposed policies on the health of the economy and the soundness of federal and state budgets. This grant would continue the Foundation’s support, which began in 2004.
