Founded in 2018 by key leaders in technology and design, The Center for Humane Technology’s mission is to" align technology with humanity’s best interests." CHT’s program areas - supporting employee insiders, advancing policy, improving humane design, and shifting the overall culture around tech – are aimed at "advancing technology that protects the vulnerability and bias of the human mind currently exploited by top social media platforms". This planning grant will support CHT’s collaboration with leading researchers focusing on social media and democracy, to inform CHT’s work on these issues.
