Overview
The Center for Cultural Innovation, with offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, works across California to promote knowledge sharing, networking, and financial independence for individual artists and creative entrepreneurs. Since 2009 the organization has effectively partnered with the Performing Arts Program to strengthen arts leadership. Renewed funding will enable the organization to provide professional and leadership development scholarships to individuals, make grants to organizations to advance promising staff, and produce a statewide convening that provides practical visioning about the future of arts leadership.

With offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the organization provides monetary grants, technical assistance, and research capacity for innovative projects that improve the practices, policies, and systems of support for artists and the arts sector. The goal of the Vallejo Arts Fund is to support arts and culture in the city of Vallejo by addressing systemic and economic inequities impacting local artists and culture bearers. In its initial round of grantmaking, the fund supported 60 Vallejo artists and organizations across five grant categories; the grant design, outreach, proposal, and review processes were all led by local community members. Support for the Vallejo Arts Fund advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.

This supplemental grant will enable the Vallejo Arts Fund to expand its activities to include capacity-building workshops and coaching responsive to the needs of Vallejo’s arts and culture ecosystem, and documentation of funded activities. Support for the Vallejo Arts Fund advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
