The Center for Cultural Innovation, with offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, conducts research, promotes knowledge and training, fosters networks, and provides grants that address the needs of artists, creative entrepreneurs, and arts workers. This grant supports an initiative to incubate new systems for arts and culture by investing in trailblazers, incentivizing the development of artist-owned enterprises, disseminating information about artists and new economy activities, and building a network of artist-influenced new economy participants.
for California Arts Leadership Now  
The Center for Cultural Innovation promotes knowledge sharing and skill building, and provides financial resources for innovative projects that improve the practices, policies, and systems of support for artists and the arts sector. With offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Center for Cultural Innovation has worked in close partnership with the Performing Arts Program since 2009 to develop and implement its arts leadership strategy. After a two-year period of experimentation led by the Hewlett Foundation, this grant in support of California Arts Leadership Now (CAL-Now), will transition the learning agenda and administration of a statewide network of arts leadership organizations from the Hewlett Foundation to the Center for Cultural Innovation.
