The Center for Cultural Innovation promotes knowledge sharing and skill building, and provides financial resources for innovative projects that improve the practices, policies, and systems of support for artists and the arts sector. With offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Center for Cultural Innovation has worked in close partnership with the Performing Arts Program since 2009 to develop and implement its arts leadership strategy. After a two-year period of experimentation led by the Hewlett Foundation, this grant in support of California Arts Leadership Now (CAL-Now), will transition the learning agenda and administration of a statewide network of arts leadership organizations from the Hewlett Foundation to the Center for Cultural Innovation.

A grant to the Center would support regranting to Bay Area performing and media artists as part of its Investing in Artists grants program and also build a working cash reserve for its Creative Capacity Quick Grant program, which reimburses artists and administrators for workshops, conferences, and technical assistance fees.
