Overview
The Center for American Progress is an independent, nonpartisan institute that develops progressive ideas, critiques policy, and seeks to shape media coverage of—and foster a national discussion on—educational reform among other issues. Its proposed research project will address how states and districts can (1) fund education standards, tests, and curricula for college- and career-readiness; (2) provide the technology supports required by new standards and assessments; and (3) assess the full range of skills and knowledge demanded by new standards. This project will result in a report, and related outreach, that will give states and districts a useful, supporting framework for discussing and implementing plans that advance these goals.
