Overview
The Center for American Progress’s Sustainable Security and Peacebuilding Initiative promotes investments in global prosperity and stability to secure long-term U.S. national security. This grant will permit the Initiative to engage in important emerging issues dealing with global poverty reduction over the next few decades. Funding will focus on four primary activities: (1) support the work of John Podesta in his position on the Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda; (2) establish a group of thought leaders from organizations in Washington that are oriented toward aid reform; (3) generate analysis and undertake advocacy on how best to manage U.S. development assistance resources in a time of extreme austerity; and (4) identify opportunities related to development reform and launch special projects as they arise.

The program integrates disciplines such as economics, health care, and gender and reaches a broad audience of advocates, policymakers, and the public through earned media, rapid response, editorial board outreach, op-ed placements, and broadcast media. for the Public Lands Program
The Center for American Progress is an independent, nonpartisan policy institute dedicated to improving the lives of all Americans through advancing bold progressive ideas, as well as strong leadership and concerted action. This grant supports its efforts to ensure that America’s public lands, waters, and wildlife are protected for everyone to experience and explore; that America’s natural resources are developed wisely, safely, and with a fair return to taxpayers; and that public lands are being managed for sustainable economic growth — from creating jobs in recreation and clean energy industries to delivering the quality of life that attracts employees and businesses to Western communities.
