Overview
The Campaign Legal Center is a nonpartisan organization working in the areas of campaign finance and elections, political communication and government ethics. The Center pursues its work through both the legislative and administrative processes and through litigation. Led by Trevor Potter, a former Federal Election Commissioner and Chair, and General Counsel to Senator John McCain, the Center has strong credibility amongst conservative leaders. Recently Mr. Potter and others have recognized the need for a new organization, with strong conservative leadership and support, to advocate for campaign finance reforms aligned with conservative values. This grant would support the Center as it searches for a strong candidate to lead this emerging organization.

The Center is led by Trevor Potter, a former Federal Election Commissioner and Chair, and General Counsel to Senator John McCain, and pursues its work through the legislative and administrative processes and through litigation. It is spearheading the defense of campaign finance laws already on the books as well as participating in efforts to improve and expand those laws. This grant will provide general operating support over the next three years to bolster the organization's capacity to carry out existing programs and to respond to new opportunities as they arise.
