Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
The Campaign Legal Center is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., that defends and protects our nation’s democracy. Since its founding in 2002, the center’s mission has been to protect and strengthen the U.S. democratic process across all levels of government through litigation, policy analysis, and public education. The center is adamantly nonpartisan, holding candidates and government officials accountable regardless of political affiliation. In courtrooms, Congress, and state houses, in the media and on the ground, the center fights for the fundamental right of all Americans to participate in the political process.
for general operating support
The Campaign Legal Center is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., that defends and protects our nation’s democracy in the areas of campaign finance and voting rights — protecting the fundamental right of all Americans to participate in the political process. Led by Trevor Potter, a former commissioner and chair of the Federal Election Commission, the center is the only organization in this field that works through the entire lifecycle of campaign finance and voting rights laws—from conceptualizing and drafting laws, to seeking their robust application and enforcement, and ultimately to defending those laws–while challenging others that undermine democracy–in the courts. This grant will provide general operating support over the next three years to bolster the organization’s capacity to carry out existing programs and to respond to new opportunities as they arise.
