Overview
CALSTART works with the transportation industry sector and vehicle fleets to help them transition to a clean energy future. With this support, CALSTART would work to defend the implementation of existing policies, such as the Low Carbon Fuel Standard in California, and the next phase of the fuel economy standard for trucks in the United States. One of the newest priorities is to help implement Governor Jerry Brown’s recently announced target for the state to reduce oil consumption and related pollution by 50% by 2030.

for general operating support
This renewal would allow the organization to continue supporting existing and new clean transportation and policies, especially in California and concerning heavy duty vehicles. Some of the proposed results of this work will be the full implementation of California’s AB 32’s actions to reach 2020 and 2050 greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and meeting California’s clean air objectives to reduce conventional pollutants from trucks and buses.
