Overview
This renewal would allow the organization to continue supporting existing and new clean transportation and policies, especially in California and concerning heavy duty vehicles. Some of the proposed results of this work will be the full implementation of California’s AB 32’s actions to reach 2020 and 2050 greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and meeting California’s clean air objectives to reduce conventional pollutants from trucks and buses.

CALSTART’s mission is to build the clean transportation industry to curb climate change, ensure clean air for all, and support economic growth. It works across public and private sectors to advocate for clean air policies and implement vehicle, infrastructure, and mobility solutions at scale. CALSTART deploys best-in-class subject-matter expertise on vehicle electrification and mobility innovation to develop incentive and pilot programs, while informing industry on how to support strong policies that achieve what’s needed now. for the Trucks and Non-Road Vehicle Initiative  
CALSTART connects companies and government agencies to advance clean transportation technologies. This grant supports CALSTART’s Trucks and Non-Road Vehicle Initiative. This initiative includes work to implement the global memorandum of understanding on rapid commercial vehicle electrification, and advance zero-emission truck vehicle regulations in the U.S. CALSTART also plans to leverage the investments from the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
