for Center ARTES’ Art Credential Pathway Project
California State University, San Marcos, is a designated Hispanic-Serving Institution of higher learning that serves approximately 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. Center ARTES at Cal State San Marcos provides teacher professional development and research dedicated to arts education and arts integration in K-12 schools. The Art Credential Pathway Project builds a pathway for arts and humanities undergraduates at Cal State San Marcos to enroll in the university’s teacher credentialing program, which helps address the need, created by the passage of the Arts and Music in Schools initiative in 2022, for credentialed visual and performing arts teachers. Support for the Art Credential Pathway Project at Center ARTES advances the Performing Arts Program’s Youth strategy through the Policy and Advocacy substrategy.
