Overview
The California State Protocol Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to defray costs and financial burden on California state taxpayers. This grant supported a trip to China by California state officials, in service of advancing climate engagement and dialogue, particularly given California’s leadership on climate mitigation. The Hewlett Foundation played no role in the selection process of the delegation, and no representatives from Hewlett participated in the trip. The California State Protocol Foundation had full discretion and control over the use of the funds to support the trip, consistent with its charitable mission.
