California League of Conservation Voters Education Fund

This grant will enable the Education Fund to continue improving its organizational systems, staffing, and governance structures to become more effective in achieving its goal of building support for clean energy and other climate change solutions. The Education Fund works with a broad array of organizations and constituencies in pursuit of policies that improve the quality of California’s air and water and reduce global warming emissions.

This grant will enable the organization to better achieve large-scale, sustainable environmental protections. In 2015, the Fund plans to focus on successful implementation of California’s climate change policies.

The California League of Conservation Voters will conduct a program to covert Asian Pacific Island (API) voters to permanent absentee (vote by mail) voters in several highly polluted neighborhoods in LA County, and partner with a local API organization on outreach and subsequent civic engagement efforts. Their goal is to build electoral power and public policy changes in environmentally impacted API communities by increasing the civic participation of APIs to ultimately increase environmental protections and improve public health.
