This grant enables the Brookings Governance Studies program to continue its research and analysis related to Congress and its constitutional duties, institutional performance, capacity, and problem solving. Through scholarship, convenings, and dissemination of research and recommendations, Brookings will inform those working to support a more effective Congress. Under the leadership of Senior Fellow Molly Reynolds, Brookings will explore congressional rules and procedures; budget and appropriations process reform; congressional oversight; and congressional capacity, productivity, demographics, and related issues. It will continue producing "Vital Statistics on Congress, a 40-year-old source of essential data.
