Overview
Berkeley Society for the Preservation of Traditional Music, operating as the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse, provides concerts, music instruction, and participatory programs for more than 80,000 people each year. Specializing in folk, traditional, and world music, it offers classes and concerts nearly every evening each week at its 440-seat facility in Berkeley. Renewed funding will enable the organization to maintain a diverse roster of educational and performance programs, increase ticket sales, and formalize an annual festival and guest curator program to further diversify its artistic offerings and audiences.
