Overview
Arts for LA fosters a healthy environment in which arts and culture can thrive and be accessible to all in Los Angeles County, and it is also a leader in statewide arts education advocacy efforts. It has teams of arts education stakeholders that work in 22 school districts throughout Los Angeles County, and its ACTIVATE Arts Advocacy Leadership Program has graduated more than 300 local advocates for the arts in 40 cities and 38 school districts since 2015, serving as a model for advocate training in the arts. Arts for LA is also the only regional advocacy organization partnering with statewide grantees on state-level arts education policy, such as the dance and theater credential reinstatement in 2017 and Create CA’s public will campaign, ensuring alignment of state education policies with arts advocates on the ground.

Trained in advocacy best practices and local infrastructure, these key stakeholders in arts education are given resources and tools to increase student access to the arts at the district and school levels.
