Overview
Arts for LA fosters a healthy environment in which arts and culture may thrive and be accessible to all in Los Angeles County. Taking a leadership role statewide in its arts education advocacy efforts, on a local level Arts for LA has developed Arts Education Teams of key stakeholders working in twenty-two school districts throughout Los Angeles County. These teams, made up of a variety of community members including parents, educators, and artists, advocate at the district and school-site level for equitable access to arts education through improved communications and focused policy change. A renewed Hewlett Foundation grant would support the development and implementation of technical assistance to provide the teams with the training and tools needed to sustain their efforts.
