Overview
Arts Council Santa Cruz County promotes creative expression and thriving communities by providing a dynamic suite of programs to arts organizations, individual artists, arts educators, and arts participants across Santa Cruz County. Building on its solid grants program, professional development offerings, and arts education services, the organization has recently expanded its business model, and now leads the coordination and activation of the Tannery Arts Center, an 8.3-acre arts campus, to promote and support the local arts community. Renewed funding will support the Arts Council’s plans to diversify its grants program to better serve the county’s population, improve equitable access to arts education in Santa Cruz County, grow its revenue, and strengthen the Tannery Arts Center.

Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
The Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County supports individual artists and strengthens arts organizations through technical and professional development assistance programs and through grants programs for small and mid-sized organizations. Its SPECTRA arts education program, although reduced in size due to school budget cuts, provides teaching artists to half of the county’s schools, and its Open Studios Tour is a much-beloved local tradition.
