Overview
The American Enterprise Institute and the Center for American Progress are leading Washington think tanks working at the intersection of politics and policy. This grant would allow experts in demography and public opinion at both institutions to jointly assess likely trends and patterns of diversity in the U.S. population over the next several decades. These projections will have major implications for our political system and the polarization that is now so readily observable within it. Having experts from these two different institutions publicly project, discuss, and debate our nation’s evolving demographics will help illuminate the path forward—and pitfalls to avoid—for political leaders and policy advocates alike.

for the Defense Cybersecurity for the 21st Century program
A grant to the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will support AEI's Foreign and Defense Policy team's new Defense Cybersecurity program, exploring how the United States can maintain leadership in innovation and technology. AEI's research will examine the rapidly changing geopolitical landscape surrounding emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum sciences, and robotics — and the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening national security.

The American Enterprise Institute’s Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies research division is dedicated to examining the underpinnings of self-government and securing the preconditions for a healthy and vibrant political culture and public policy arena; revitalizing our core institutions; and building an energetic intellectual community devoted to these causes. Its scholars will pursue ambitious intellectual and scholarly projects in the study of our constitutional system and its institutions and will leverage the institute’s flagship outreach programs for maximum impact. In addition, the research division will house National Affairs, a powerful dissemination vehicle for a broad range of public policy ideas and political thought.
