American Economic Liberties Project

American Economic Liberties Project works to develop and advance a coherent framework of policy ideas and tools that challenge concentrated corporate power and organizes broad coalitions of business, labor, and civil society stakeholders to demand accountability from public officials who have the authority to protect workers, small businesses, communities, and democracy from monopolistic corporations. Economic Liberties combines deep policy research and regulatory expertise with capacities in strategic communications, advocacy, coalition building, and basic organizing to drive public policy and enforcement actions that redistribute economic power to the people.

The American Economic Liberties Project develops policy solutions and builds the political will to educate, support, and demand accountability from state and federal officials who have the tools and the power to protect workers, small businesses, communities, and democracy from monopolistic corporations. The project engages a diverse set of organizations, including labor, racial justice, and grassroots groups, as well as businesses — particularly organizations representing entrepreneurs and smaller businesses — to redistribute economic power to the people.

Concentrated corporate power — a consequence of 40 years of dominant neoliberal ideology — is now broadly understood to be incompatible with dynamic, equitable economic growth and a resilient democratic society.
