Overview
The Reproductive Freedom Project of the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation works to protect reproductive rights in the United States through a combination of litigation, advocacy, and public education. This grant will (a) support the project’s continued efforts to litigate against laws that harm or diminish reproductive rights; (b) carry out proactive campaigns such as highlighting the harmful effects of religious refusal laws on both reproductive and other human rights; and (c) work in close collaboration with other organizations to ensure that the most important reproductive rights cases have effective legal and advocacy expertise.

The Reproductive Freedom Project of the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation works to protect reproductive rights in the United States through a combination of litigation, advocacy, and public education. In light of the Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, the ACLU is qualified to mitigate the resulting damage. This grant will (a) support the project’s continued efforts to litigate against laws that harm or diminish reproductive rights; (b) carry out proactive campaigns such as highlighting the harmful effects of religious refusal laws on both reproductive and other human rights; (c) work in close collaboration with other organizations to ensure that the most important reproductive rights cases have effective legal and advocacy expertise; and (d) work with partners to ensure that those investigated and prosecuted for assisting, receiving, or providing abortion care receive legal representation.
