Grants to this Grantee
for engaging higher education in implementation of the Common Core and aligned assessments
This grant would enable three national education associations—the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association—to add two more states to their partnership. Together, these associations work with states to define college readiness according to the Common Core standards and implement policies and practices for the way in which the standards and assessments will affect students’ preparation for college.
for engaging higher education in implementation of the Common Core and aligned assessments
This grant would enable three national education associations—the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association—to collaboratively plan a roadmap for states to implement the Common Core standards and assessments. The partnership will continue its work with eight to ten states to define college readiness in light of the Common Core, setting performance levels of college readiness in the new assessments, and examining how the Common Core and the assessments will affect the preparation of new teachers.
for engaging higher education in implementation of the Common Core State Standards and assessments
The Program’s goal is to assure that higher education is involved in developing and implementing the new college-readiness assessments. This grant would enable three national education associations—the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association—to collaboratively plan a roadmap for states to implement the Common Core State Standards and assessments. The partnership will set up a steering committee and workgroups made up of K-12 and higher education representatives in six states to develop these plans. Recommendations will be published nationally and distributed to the constituencies of the three organizations.
