Ali Akbar College of Music is an independent school dedicated to the teaching and continuation of North Indian classical music. It reaches approximately 2,000 people each year through its in-person and online classes, concert and community education programs, and collaborations with public and private schools in Oakland and San Francisco. In addition, the organization provides online and in-person public access to the Ali Akbar Khan Library, which houses more than 8,000 hours of the late Ali Akbar Khans work. Support for the Ali Akbar College of Music advances the Performing Arts Programs Artists strategy.
