Overview
Accountability Counsel is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco. Its mission is to amplify the voices of communities around the world through the protection of human rights and the environment. The focus of this project — Advancing a Movement for Accountability in Impact Investing — is to establish a free-standing accountability office to help impact investors better manage risk, understand the implications of their investment decisions, and ensure that communities have an effective forum for raising grievances about harm caused by impact investments. This grant will support the organization’s efforts to start implementing its vision by hiring both a policy advisor with expertise in impact investing as well as a policy associate to support the policy advisor’s work.
