In May 2017, the Hewlett Foundation published a guide about deeper learning for the Education Writers Association conference. It’s intended to help reporters and parents and anyone else who is trying to understand what 21st century learning looks like, and whether it’s working. If you’ve ever walked into a classroom where the noise levels are high and you can’t immediately spot the teacher, this guide will help explain what you’re seeing. It provides a sense of how deeper learning classrooms are designed, what the students are learning, and questions you can ask to dig deeper with the students and educators.
