Decoding deeper learning in the classroom

In May 2017, the Hewlett Foundation published a guide about deeper learning for the Education Writers Association conference. It’s intended to help reporters and parents and anyone else who is trying to understand what 21^st century learning looks like, and whether it’s working. If you’ve ever walked into a classroom where the noise levels are high and you can’t immediately spot the teacher, this guide will help explain what you’re seeing. It provides a sense of how deeper learning classrooms are designed, what the students are learning, and questions you can ask to dig deeper with the students and educators.
