Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) was established over 85 years ago to bring science solutions to the world through research based on the interdisciplinary “team science” approach. This grant aims to support the LBNL in fundraising and effective communication to bridge science with policy in the global context.

This grant will support the nonpartisan research and analyses of India Energy Program at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The research will help to establish a pathway for achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of energy independence by 2047, using clean technologies. In order to achieve this, for the next two years the program will focus on supporting the implementation of a 500 GW renewable energy target in the power sector, and assisting in the establishment of sector-specific targets and strategies for industry and transport. This grant will support LBNL's China Energy Group to better incorporate the Berkeley Lab IDEA principles into its external communications, thereby significantly enhancing the reach and impact of its scientific research.
