Overview
Education Commission of the States is an interstate agency that tracks educational policy, translates research, and provides advice and opportunities for state policymakers to learn from one another. One of its programs is the Arts Education Partnership, a coalition of more than 100 organizations dedicated to advancing arts education. The partnership builds education leadership capacity and provides an online repository for high-quality research to promote education systems that embrace learning in and through the arts. This grant will support a research project that connects county offices of education arts education efforts with the goals of California’s Local Control Funding Formula legislation, enacted in 2013. This grant to Education Commission of the States for Arts Education Partnership advances the Performing Arts Program’s Youth strategy.
