Overview
Resources Legacy Fund serves as fiscal sponsor for the International Boreal Conservation Campaign (IBCC), which empowers Canadians to protect the boreal forestlands for the benefit of people and nature. For instance, IBCC supports the Indigenous Leadership Initiative to help strengthen indigenous nationhood and fulfill indigenous cultural responsibilities to the land. The Indigenous Leadership Initiative is working with First Nations across Canada on land-use planning, designation of new Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas, and programs to fund Indigenous Guardians to steward these protected areas.
