Overview
Voices for Civil Justice is a national nonpartisan communications hub for civil legal aid that works "to close the justice gap so that people who are poor or nearly poor can get equal access to justice and overcome barriers to social mobility, racial equality, and economic justice." Studies estimate that 80 percent of the serious legal needs of poor Americans who are eligible for civil legal aid go unmet due to insufficient funding and support. Launched in the fall of 2013, Voices for Civil Justice works to address this challenge by showcasing the work of local and national actors in the civil legal aid community, increasing public awareness, organizing the field, and building public support for better outcomes.
