The Communications Network

Historically, the Communications Network has worked with foundations to support their use of communications in order to strengthen their grants, their grantees, and the field of philanthropy. Recently the organization decided to extend its work with foundations' communications and program staff to now engage directly with key grantee organizations. Simultaneous to this strategic expansion, Communications Network is undergoing a leadership transition. After more than seven years of leading the Network, its Executive Director Bruce Trachtenberg is stepping down (and a separate executive search is being conducted). A new board chair has just been named, and three new members have joined the board in the past several months. In light of these many changes, Communications Network is seeking a governance consultant to help the organization align its governance culture, structure, and practices with this new strategic vision and reset roles and expectations for a new Executive Director, as well as for current and future generations of board members.
