for engaging higher education in implementation of the Common Core and aligned assessments
This grant would enable three national education associations—the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association—to add two more states to their partnership. The Program’s goal is to assure that higher education is involved in developing and implementing the new college-readiness assessments. This grant would enable three national education associations—the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association—to collaboratively plan a roadmap for states to implement the Common Core State Standards and assessments. The partnership will set up a steering committee and workgroups made up of K-12 and higher education representatives in six states to develop these plans. Recommendations will be published nationally and distributed to the constituencies of the three organizations.
