Overview
NetHope is an inter-agency collaboration of 34 international humanitarian organizations dedicated to better serving the developing world through smarter use of technology. For the past ten years, NetHope has brought together NGOs and corporate partners to develop innovative solutions that address the world's most pressing challenges. Recently, NetHope partners and members helped restore communications capability in earthquake-stricken Haiti and implemented a training and work experience program for Haitian computer science students whose school had been destroyed. After a six month training program all of these students received job offers and many are now working for NGOs engaged in rebuilding Haiti. By bringing together NGOs, corporate partners, foundations, and individuals to collaborate and design innovative projects, NetHope catalyzes advances in support of humanitarian relief and development in ways that organizations could not accomplish on their own. General operating support would support NetHope's five initiatives: Connectivity, Emergency Response, Field Capacity Building, Shared Services, and Innovation for Development.
