Overview
This grant would support The Wilderness Society's efforts to build support for protection of three iconic wild areas in Montana; the Rocky Mountain Front on the east flank of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, the Blackfoot on the southern boundary of the WIlderness and the Gallatin Range bounding Yellowstone National Park on the north. Together these areas represent 750,000 acres of wild country. The Society will research the values of the areas and potential conflicts, educate its members, the public and decision-makers, recruit diverse constituencies and engage the media to highlight the need for protection. The Wilderness Society is a 75 year-old national conservation organization dedicated to the protection of wild areas throughout the United States.
