Overview
TechCongress Foundation is a non-profit organization that places computer scientists, engineers and other technologists in Congressional offices through its one-year Congressional Innovation Fellowship. Fellows’ work spans issues such as election security, data privacy, artificial intelligence ethics, the future of work, defense technology and regulations for autonomous vehicle and drones. This grant to TechCongress Foundation will allow it to grow into its own permanent entity and sustain the organization in the future.

The mission of TechCongress is to build a 21st century Congress by leveraging technology talent. The organization places computer scientists, engineers, and other technologists as advisers to Congress through early and midcareer fellowships in Republican and Democratic offices. Fellows’ work spans issues including AI, election security, privacy, cybersecurity, mis- and disinformation, the future of work, and other emerging technology issues. The ultimate objective of TechCongress is to galvanize both parties on Capitol Hill to independently hire staff with technical skills. TechCongress will be successful when Congress is solving its own tech deficit and the organization is thereby no longer necessary. (Substrategy: Legislative Branch)
