Overview
Upsolve is a nonprofit that rehabilitates Americans struggling with debt through Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is a powerful lifeline to help low-income Americans get back on their feet. Since this lifeline is hard to access for many people due to lawyers’ high costs per case, Upsolve makes it accessible and free, through a guided web application combined with attorney review. Upsolve’s innovative online direct service model gives it the capacity to serve low-income Americans in every state. Spun out of Harvard Law School’s Access to Justice Lab in 2016, Upsolve is composed of a team of lawyers, judges, academics, and technologists.
