for the Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation
The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) is a D.C.-based nonpartisan research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy. FDD’s Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation (CCTI) seeks to advance U.S. prosperity and security through technology innovation while countering cyber threats that seek to diminish it. CCTI promotes a greater understanding within the U.S. government, private sector, and allied countries of the threats and opportunities to national security posed by the rapidly expanding technological environment. It combines rigorous academic research of adversaries’ strategies and capabilities with scientific experimentation and interdisciplinary study to unlock technological, governance, and policy solutions. CCTI aims to bridge the gaps between technical and nontechnical audiences to drive revolutionary, society-wide improvement in cyber resilience. (Strategy: Core Institutions)

for a project to study cyber-enabled economic warfare
A grant to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies will help it provide a base for the policy community to better understand cyber-enabled economic warfare. The project will develop a framework for understanding key concepts and explain how the evolution of information technologies is impacting the deployment and development of economic warfare tools. It will spur more informed public discussion of cyber-enabled economic warfare, thereby helping to ensure systemic financial integrity at a time when cyber-attacks against the economic sector continue to increase.
