Overview
The Environmental Health Coalition is the fiscal sponsor of the California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA)’s Global Climate Action Summit organizing project. CEJA is an alliance of environmental justice groups from across the state. CEJA played a lead role as a Bay Area host committee for groups from around the world who attended the Global Climate Action Summit in September 2018, and helped coordinate several summit-related activities. With Hewlett Foundation support, CEJA devoted staff time to lead organizing committees for the People’s Climate March and other important local summit-related events. CEJA will also transfer summit momentum into ambitious climate action in California in the years to come.

California Environmental Justice Alliance (fiscally sponsored by Environmental Health Coalition) is composed of six grassroots environmental justice organizations representing the major geographic regions of the state. The Alliance brings local voices into state policy debates on renewable energy and energy efficiency, and works to ensure that the policies are designed and implemented equitably. This helps build support for clean energy among California’s communities of color, an increasingly important population.
