Overview
As part of its longstanding commitment to the Bay Area, the Hewlett Foundation has been exploring opportunities to help tackle major challenges facing the region. This grant will support the San Francisco Foundation’s (TSFF) efforts to address the housing crisis, arguably the Bay Area’s greatest problem. TSFF is playing a leadership role on this issue, working closely with government, business, nonprofit, and community stakeholders. With this grant, TSFF will help community-based organizations develop communication and advocacy strategies to build support for affordable housing among homeowners, developers, decision-makers, and others. This grant also will help the Hewlett Foundation explore whether to play a longer-term role.
