Overview
Kronos Performing Arts Association is the organizational entity that stewards the internationally renowned Kronos Quartet. In addition to managing the quartet’s 22-week touring schedule, Kronos produces numerous educational activities through partnerships with schools and universities, and hosts an annual Kronos Festival at the SFJAZZ Center (a Hewlett Foundation grantee) celebrating new works for string quartet and featuring a powerful roster of guest artists and composers. Each year, the organization engages more than 50,000 people through its programs. In the coming grant period, it will continue its performance and presenting work, round out its Fifty for the Future commissioning initiative, and strengthen its organizational capacity through planning, fundraising, and board development.
