Yerba Buena Arts and Events animates the open public spaces of the Yerba Buena Garden complex in downtown San Francisco, presenting music, theater, dance, spoken word, cultural, educational, and children’s programs reflecting the rich cultures and creativity of the region. Between May and October, the festival presents nearly 100 programs, all admission free and serving more than 120,000 audience members annually. The organization has a commissioning and residency program in which some of the nation’s most accomplished playwrights, composers, and choreographers create new works. A grant renewal will support professional development for staff, all performances and commissions, expanded marketing efforts, and continued financial stability.
