Overview
One of four cornerstone grantees of our Arts Education Policy and Advocacy Strategy, California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) provides critical services through its statewide Arts Initiative. This multi-pronged project seeks to increase and expand arts education in all California public schools by providing school districts with technical assistance, such as arts curricula, assessment tools, and leadership development. Working closely with the California Department of Education and California Arts Council, CCSESA was an important player in developing the "Blueprint for Creative Schools" and launching Create CA, a new project of Hewlett Foundation grantee the California Alliance for Arts Education. Renewed support will enable CCSESA to navigate new developments in education policy to include the arts as a priority.
